Sahiwal Division is located in the southeast of Punjab. It is almost 180 km from Lahore. It is 500 ft (150 m) above sea level. The dry River Khushak Bias separates it from the District Pakpattan. It is spread over an area of 3,201 square km (km2).
Goals
- To plan safe, convenient, efficient, and equitable traffic system
- To improve disorderly traffic situation around the city
- To improve roadway network
- To improve and re-design junctions
- To improve parking management
- To develop pedestrian and bicycle path
- To install traffic control devices (traffic signals, traffic signs for smooth traffic operations) and other cost effective traffic management measures (one-way street system, exclusive bus priority lanes, traffic calming devices, ITS etc.)
Scope of Study
- To identify the existing traffic management issues
- To formulate effective traffic management strategies for the city
Outcomes of Study
- Proposed Conceptual Design of important junction along with other important recommendations (installation of signals, traffic signage, road widening and other geometric improvements
- Provision of angled and parallel parking along High Street Road
- Junctions improvements suggested for better traffic management
